The highly anticipated release of Assassin's Creed Shadows, initially set for November 15, 2024, has been postponed to February 14, 2025. Ubisoft's decision to delay the Assassin's Creed Shadows release date stems from multiple factors. The company has faced backlash regarding the performance of its latest games, particularly Star Wars Outlaws, which did not meet sales expectations and garnered mixed reviews. Marc-Alexis Côté, the head of the Assassin's Creed franchise, noted that players are increasingly discerning and expect high-quality gaming experiences. He emphasized that the additional time would allow developers to refine Assassin's Creed Shadows, ensuring it meets the high standards fans have come to expect.

Collector's Edition Modifications 

In conjunction with the game's delayed launch, significant changes have been made to the Assassin's Creed Shadows Collector's Edition. The price has been reduced from $280 to $230 for both console and PC versions. This adjustment comes after the removal of a previously included season pass that was part of the edition. 

Additionally, early access for Collector's Edition buyers has been eliminated. Instead of gaining three days of early access, all players will now be able to experience Assassin's Creed Shadows simultaneously on its new release date. While many collectible items such as a character statue and an artbook will remain in the package, some design elements may change based on updates made during development.
